About the project

Hi everyone and welcome to the blog!

This project is an exploration of ICT, ideas, attitudes and the world generally as well as being a bit of fun. It was designed to help us build our understanding of the world by collaborating with individuals who were travelling abroad.
The link blogs were:

www.culturechathulya.blogspot.com
www.culturechatdarionandcody.blogspot.co.uk

The project began in January 2013 with a mixed year 3/4 class in Oxfordshire. It was originally planned to end on 08/02/13 but has been extended by request and is currently adapting from it's short-term plan into something that can continue and be sustained...

We have previously collaborated with St Luke's First School, Worcestershire (http://stlukesfirst.creativeblogs.net/) and are open to extending the project to other schools over the coming months. Please e-mail if you would like to take part in the future or, alternatively, develop the project in your school. Everyone is welcome to join in!

We were in the local news during March and are currently featuring in the Spring edition of Eduzine, which has worldwide links. The project has been recognised by the Department for Education and the National Educational Trust on several occasions, featuring on their social media pages. A brief summary of the project and its benefits can be seen here: http://globaldimension.org.uk/news/item/17335

Comments, ideas for improvement and general feedback are always welcome.

I am @Ezzy_Moon on twitter and use it only for educational discussion and networking.

Outcomes

By the end of our 5wk project, we should:

- Have a broader cultural knowledge.

- Have developed curiosity and questions about other cultures and ways of living.

- Be able to identify similarities/differences/make comparisons between life in England and life in the link bloggers destination.

- Make comparisons between our current knowledge and experiences and that of the link bloggers.
